Here’s an iPhone app series aimed at the travel enthusiasts. SwamiCity has announced a series of iPhone applications pertaining to travel. This series is apparently the first free travel app series that encompasses 30 different applications on a single interface.
With the launch of technologically advanced devices like the iPhone and even the iPad, travel applications seem to have given ‘traveling’ a new definition by changing the interaction between users and their holiday spots. SwamiCity seems to offer just that.
The application covers more than what an ordinary travel guide app otherwise does. It provides real-time travel information inclusive of subway maps, flight status, traffic and weather updates. Local residents can keep up with local and international news sources via news channels. Moreover, tourists can check with the local farmers markets as well as industry-specific channels that include sample sales and eco-friendly businesses.
This innovative application bridges the gap between tourists and residents by allowing access to multiple areas like events, flights, weather, news, attractions, hotels, shopping, clubs, tours, theatre, museums, galleries, performing arts, movies, dining and Wi-Fi hotspots. Tourists can even read restaurant reviews and use Twitter to tweet their holiday pictures to friends and family.
That’s just not it. Users can even use their iPhone’s GPS and interactive maps with street view to find the closest restaurants, clubs, movie theatres, etc. Furthermore, users can search for items by location, title or as favorites, to access them easily at a later stage. Incase of confusion, they can let the Swami decide and the app will choose from among their saved favorites.
