Fourth generation Intel Core processors arrive in India

Less than a month after the fourth generation Intel Core processors were unveiled at the Computex in Taiwan, the company has brought the new CPU family to India. The brand new Intel SoCs claim to be compatible with compact gadgets like tablets as well as 2-in-1 devices amongst a number of others.

Considering that it is a System-on-a-Chip, customers can expect the new lineup of processors to be considerably thinner and lighter. Apart from this, they should work towards making much less noise and give way to fanless designs by being a lot more cooler compared to Ivy Bridge. The former is also said to be as much as 15 percent better than its immediate predecessor. They look forward to being the driving force behind AIOs to make them even more portable.

What comes across as one of the key highlights of the fourth generation Intel Core processors is their ability to consume much less battery. If the company is to be believed, there are 50 percent improvements in usage times, while standby times are likely to be improved by two or three folds. It has also been revealed that systems which are slated to be made available in the market this year will boast of coughing up the juice for about 9 hours at a stretch.

In addition to this, the chipsets should render enhanced graphics performance and perk up every day computing to make it twice as fast as its rivals. Potential users will also notice that their computers wake up from sleep pretty quickly. And as for the visuals, they should be more vibrant and detailed, thanks to the Iris GPUs which will be available on a few SKUs. The makers of these chips go as far as to say that they will boost the performance of the upcoming touch-enabled Ultrabooks.
