Firefox 4 releasing in February?

Firefox 4 beta January 2011, was power-packed with several major devices being announced one of which was the Verizon iPhone 4. If January was the month of pronouncements then February will be all about these offerings hitting the market. Come next month and there are chances that Firefox 4 will head out of the beta stage to be available for all.

A post by Mozilla team member Damon on the Google Groups for developers elucidates that it’s time to ship the Firefox 4. Apparently, the team has been working extremely hard to make sure that the software is released in pristine form. Currently, it seems that roughly 160 significant bugs are still remaining in it. Once these are cut down to a hundred the release candidate (RC) will be ready.

The post states that the first RC of Firefox 4 is anticipated to be released in the beginning of February followed up with the final version shipping by the month’s end. Well, this would simply mean that come February and the next-generation of Firefox will see the light.
