Facebook for iOS app updated, ‘twice as fast’

Facebook For iOS Update

The Facebook for iOS app is now faster than its earlier versions, courtesy of v5.0 that has just been rolled out. According to the developers, the application’s speed has increased two-fold in terms of the start-sequence, general browsing and image loading.

As soon as the iOS utility is launched, the respective notifications and feeds open up quickly. While perusing the news section, all the relevant stories are updated just as swiftly.

Activities of friends are displayed on a banner as when they are performed for users to take note of. Simply tapping the concerned widget will open up the latest feed. This mitigates the need to refresh the page every now and then, adding to the convenience of users.

Relative to the previous editions, the company claims that the new version allows faster loading of pictures. Each of the images can be opened and closed via simple swipes of the fingers. A simple tap on the required picture will open the image, while swiping downwards will close it.

As the app makers put it, the application has been reformed ‘from the ground up,’ which makes it sound like a big upgrade. It is available for both the iPhone and the iPad. It also rubs along nicely with the iPod touch and runs on iOS 4.3 and higher devices. This tool that dropped into iTunes just recently is free of charge.
