European carriers at loss after over-estimation of iPhone stocks

iPhone The iPhone came in the mobile market with a huge blast and most of the mobile network carriers expected a huge rush to buy these sleek phones. Agreed that there was a huge crowd queued up to purchase these touch-screen beauties, however the demand and the supply did not co-ordinate well and network operators seem to be sitting over with a huge pile of unsold iPhones.

After the rumor ran all over that the 3G iPhone was set to arrive, mobile operators such as T-Mobile started selling off the iPhone 8GB at a slashed rate of €99 with a 2-year contractual plan. Even O2 dropped the price of the 8 GB version from £269 to £169. To top up the 3G iPhone rumor, TimesOnline has reported that Apple is planning to release not one but 3 types of models of the iPhone. The speculation is that the iPhone will come in various model types like the 3G Model, Flip-iPhone and the slider QWERTY iPhone.

Although the carriers are not sure whether these rumors are true or not but their fears have been answered in the reduction of the price of the phone. Even with a cut in price, the iPhone stocks do not seem like clearing but it is adding up to the losses of the Mobile network carriers as they are left with a stock of unsold stock of the iPhones with them.
