ESPN ID pack rolls out for Sprint subscribers

Sprint ESPN ID packs

Back in the month of October, Sprint came up with an interesting concept of introducing ID packs wherein handset owners could access a wide array of content related to a particular category. Several iD packs have made it to the consumer segment. Adding one more to the list, is the latest ESPN ID pack unveiled jointly by Sprint and ESPN.

Sprint ID packs can be downloaded on handsets like LG Optimus S, Sanyo Zio, Samsung Transform as well as some of the upcoming handsets. The ESPN ID pack includes access to several attributes like ScoreCenter, ESPN Extras, Video On Demand, ESPN Mobile TV and Fantasy Sports.

“Collaborating with Sprint has allowed us to offer our audience a robust mobile experience that lets them stay in touch with everything they love about ESPN even when they’re away from their TV or computer,” remarked Matt Murphy, Senior Vice President of Digital Distribution at ESPN. “Sprint ID is an innovative concept that allows us to design a package of content that sports fans will appreciate when they’re away from home, such as checking the scores or watching their favorite sports. Sprint ID makes it convenient for them to get all the ESPN content they want with one click – eliminating the time and hassle of searching for everything themselves.”

“Sports fans always want to know how their team is doing even when they can’t be in front of the TV or PC, and the ESPN ID pack from Sprint gives them access to a wealth of ESPN programming and content through ESPN Mobile TV, ESPN Radio and all kinds of other applications that can be accessed through the pack,” commented David Owens, vice president of consumer marketing at Sprint. “This collaboration really advances the ball in terms of providing a rich mobile experience.”

Other than this, the pack will also allow handset owners to download ESPN wallpapers of their favorite teams or select a design from its studio shows. Ringtones that can be downloaded subsume four variants of the SportsCenter theme song, NBA on ESPN theme, Baseball Tonight theme and College GameDay theme.

It even offers several web shortcuts to ESPN indexes for baseball, basketball, college football, college basketball, hockey, ESPNsoccernet, football, auto racing, fantasy sports, SportsNation and ESPN PodCasts. In all, users can download up to five ID packs on their handsets. The ESPN ID pack can be procured free of cost.
