Early beta version of Nokia Image Exchange out for S60 touch devices

Nokia Image Exchange beta

Here’s exciting news for dedicated Nokia fans who boast of S60 touch devices. Well, the official Nokia Beta Labs blog shares that the company has given to popular demand to release the early beta of Nokia Image Exchange for touch devices.

The mobile client presently is claimed to have limited functionality. S60 touch device owners need to know that the UI of the tool still requires polishing.

Nevertheless, this early beta encompasses an option to upload images to Facebook. The feature is can be seen from the Send options, however it will only be available if the image has been uploaded and published as Facebook requires access to it. The usability of this feature later is expected to be enhanced while also being included to the non-touch version. As of now, it works only for users’ own images.

Moving on to the UI, certain features are not supported by the touch client like it is not enabled for the auto-rotate function and there is no accelerometer support. These also include grid views via main menu, time based views and zooming in general. We guess the early beta should allow the Nokia Beta Labs to get some useful feedback and suggestions before they roll out the full version.

Nokia Image Exchange for S60 touch is available for downloading and has been tested on Nokia 5530, 5800 Xpress Music, N97 and X6. It is also available for other devices like S60 non-touch and S40 via the Ovi Store, though these versions are more mature and currently proffer more features.
