EA Mobile and id Software bring Wolfenstein RPG to the iPhone

Wolfenstein iPhone App The iPhone is now transformed into a battleground. EA Mobile has recently unleashed the Wolfenstein RPG for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The classic game, designed by id software is a turn-based role playing action game.

Gamers encounter Axis soldiers, steer through mystifying underground tunnels. They need to fight a gang of monsters and ultimately take down the Axis’ diabolical Paranormal Division. Gamers personify Sergeant B.J. Blazkowicz, head of an influential U.S. fighting unit. The plot of the game revolves around the leader who is caged by the Axis Army.

“Working on mobile platforms has allowed us to rapidly evolve our games — Wolfenstein RPG is the fourth generation of our turn-based titles under EA Mobile, and all the experience and lessons from our award winning DOOM RPG and Orcs & Elves games are distilled in it. The App Store version is dramatically better than on any other platform, with by an order of magnitude more media in high resolution graphics and audio, all rendered fast and smooth with hardware OpenGL graphics acceleration,” quoted John Carmack, founder and technical director at id Software.

“Both the DOOM RPG and Orcs & Elves franchises created by id Software were critically-acclaimed titles and fans will experience the same level of enjoyment with EA Mobile’s Wolfenstein RPG. With this RPG take on the game, fans of Wolfenstein now have a chance to battle the Axis Army in a new way,” remarked Adam Sussman, VP Worldwide Publishing for EA Mobile.

Gamers get a chance to destroy the enemies within nine gripping levels. Employing the novel multi-touch user interface of iPhone and iPod touch, gamers just need to tap in order to pick up arms to hit, kick, dynamite and devastate super soldiers, zombies and the shadowy Harbinger of Doom. Walking motions and fights can be controlled simply by swiping. They can also use the accelerometer to thrust the sniper rifle into action. Players can enhance B.J.’s performance abilities by devising some strange syringes.

The iPhone game is available on the App Store globally and also on EA Mobile’s official website, approximately for $4.99.
