Dymo CardScan Mobile comes to iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones

DYMO LogoIn today’s fast paced world, networks and contacts have gained immense importance and hence professionals need to handle business cards with extreme care as they contain important contacts. iPhone and BlackBerry smartphone users needn’t worry any more as Dymo CardScan has unraveled its mobile app to manage their business cards. The Dymo CardScan Mobile app enables users to swiftly and accurately scan business cards while on-the-move.

Initially, the app was available exclusively for the Windows Mobile last year in October. With the help of this app, users can immediately send contact details from a business card to the suitable fields in a digital contact list. It can access the details by simply taking a photograph of the business card with the handset’s camera.

“We’re excited to offer this application to additional smartphone users,” stated Lisa Howe, Director of Marketing, Dymo CardScan. “Dymo CardScan Mobile provides a simple solution for on-the-go professionals who need to easily reference information from their business contacts.”

With the Dymo CardScan Mobile app, users now need not go through the effort of typing out each detail onto their handset. The application instantly adds all the details through the photo into the appropriate fields of the device’s contact list. The app does not require a CardScan business card scanner and software to operate.

The earlier version of the app had been customized for the Windows Mobile OS 6+ smartphones equipped with a 3MP or higher camera carrying the autofocus function. However, it is now also available for the iPhone 3GS, OS4, OS3 and the BlackBerry Platforms v4.6, v4.7 and v5.0, featuring an autofocus camera. The app will function for BlackBerry devices like Curve 8900, Storm 9530, Storm 2 9550, Tour 9630 and Bold 9700.

The Dymo CardScan Mobile application can be purchased from the iTunes Store for the iPhone. BlackBerry smartphone users may procure it from the App World. The offering is priced at $9.99 in the United States.
