Dropbox for Android upgraded to v2.0, includes support for Ice Cream Sandwich

The popular Dropbox for Android app has been updated to version 2.0 and now comes integrated with support for the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich mobile platform. This web-based file hosting service has undergone quite a few changes for the better and facilitates the renaming of files and folders which couldn’t be done in the earlier version.

Dropbox employs cloud technology to store the users’ documents, folder, pictures and videos so that they are able to access them from anywhere and at anytime. This service is said to be apt for those who are constantly on the move and can’t possibly carry their hardware devices for working on the saved data.

Version 2.0 has brought along with it a feature called favorites by which users can gain quick access to their frequently worked on documents via their phone. Device owners simply have to star these particular files to instantly access the data even when offline.

With this update, users need not waste time in putting up their folders one by one as the application is now capable of supporting bulk uploads. A bunch of multimedia content like pictures and videos can be chosen to upload in the background.

The refreshed application’s interface sports a completely new, cleaner look and it facilitates the execution of various file and folder actions via a single tap. Additional enhancements in this update include better gallery view, improved stability and export to local storage as well as certain bug fixes.

The updated Dropbox for Android app can now be downloaded for free from the Android Market.
