With the Bold 9650 rumored to be operating on BlackBerry 6, here’s Droid X apparently running on Android 2.2. At least this is what Droid Life shares, as its states that it has sighted some screenshots of the Droid X functioning on 2.2. The screenshots include snippets of the system information and settings page, ‘apps to SD’, as well as the ‘About’ screen.
The website reveals that probably this is a test build. In all likelihood if the testers are selling their Droid Xs equipped with Android 2.2, there is a major possibility that the updated handset is nearing its release date. Moreover the Quadrant benchmarks seemed to be unimpressive and even after running it twice, it came out with numbers lower than the ones you get on a stock 2.1 DX.
Droid aficionados who simply can’t wait to get their hands on this handset running Android 2.2 might just have good news around the corner. Rumor has it that the Droid 1, Incredible and Droid X should be released pretty soon with Android 2.2.
