Mac and PC users as well as owners of the iOS-based gadgets, who have been awaiting the latest iteration of Apple’s store can now download iTunes 11 through the official web portal. Interested people can also check their software updates to install the latest version on their respective computers.
According to Apple, it has not only been blessed with a remodeled store, but also a redesigned player. A number of new iCloud features have also been thrown into the mix. This version has been simplified to display what customers wish to see in their collections, thanks to new library views. The new feature segregates music, movies, apps, TV shows and more, which is said to ensure an intuitive browsing experience.
The guys over at the Cupertino-based company have also introduced the expanded view to eliminate the need to leave the library page in order to play a track from one of the albums. When expanding, users will also see recommendations for similar albums and songs. Its MiniPlayer has been updated as well, with an up next button to see the upcoming tracks.
And if that’s not enough, users have the option to change tracks from the player itself, without even opening the library. iTunes will now suggest songs and albums from the store on the basis of the album or genre selected by the listener.
Another useful feature is the Preview History, which keeps a track of all the digital content previewed. Not only can the history of the device used to preview content, can be seen on it, but also all the others as it synchronizes it across all gadgets.
Furthermore, while developing all these attributes, the company hasn’t forgotten to enhance its looks either. The store’s redesigned version is now available for the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac as well as PC.
An improved iCloud tags along with attributes like instant access from all compatible devices and a download button to facilitate offline viewing. It also remembers where users left off a movie, TV show, audiobook, podcast or more and starts from the same point, even if accessed from another device.
