The Samsung Rugby III price and release date details have tackled their way into the market through AT&T. The carrier’s senior vice president from Devices and Developer Services states that the handset stands to be fifth in their line of rugged devices and it joins the lineup alongside the Rugby II and Pro.

The sturdy gadget bears a 2.4-inch QVGA display, below which, rests a traditional keypad to facilitate texting and dialing numbers. The alphanumeric keyboard includes a dedicated PTT button that gives quick access to contact people. Users can enjoy speaking to groups owing to the network provider’s Enhanced PTT service.

Jumping to the design, the flip phone is built to military 810G specifications and it is tailored to survive under various conditions throughout its service life. It has been assembled to be water-, dust- and shock-resistant in order to sustain the blows of day-to-day life.

Based on IP67 rating, it stands to be waterproof if immersed in up to 1 meter of liquid for not more than half an hour considering all ports are tightly shut. The company, however, advises against using it under water.

Another highlight of the phone is that it supports various mobile resource management applications offered by the network provider. These apps allow organizations to observe the location and activities of employees, increase visibility while working as well as improve responsiveness and productivity.

AT&T gives an option of either purchasing the Samsung Rugby III at a price of $99.99 with a two-year agreement or else organizations can grab it for free with a two-year Enhanced Push-to-Talk contract. It will be hitting the US on December 14, 2012.

Furthermore, the carrier offers two different subscriptions for those who wish to purchase the phone with the Enhanced PTT contract.
