After proffering kids and young adults two new Disney smartphones, the company is set to unveil the DoCoMo Next series Aquos Phone SH-06D and Medias Tab N-06D in Japan. Equipped with V-High multimedia broadcasting services, both these gadgets will be aimed at users who demand mobile entertainment from their smartphones and tablets.
The latest entrants operate on the Android OS and will be retailed exclusively in Japan. The manufacturer will also allow buyers to access NOTTV, a mobile multimedia broadcasting station by mmbi, through the smartphone as well as the slate. These services are expected to be made functional starting April 1. The stand-like structures featured in both gadgets, should probably help potential owners take advantage of portable mobile television without having to manually carry the handset at all times.
The Aquos Phone as well as the N-06D tab are apparently both waterproof devices. In addition to this, the slate is also reportedly the slimmest in the world among waterproof handsets with screen sizes measuring over 5 inches. The phone sports a 4.5-inch 3D HD display and has been embedded with a 1.2GHz dual core processor. The accompanying tabletop stand is integrated with an antenna for reception of multimedia broadcasts and is even capable of acting as a charging dock.
On the other hand, the tablet possesses a 7-inch HD WXGA touchscreen and weighs merely 350g. Incorporated with a 1.2GHz dual core CPU, it is compatible with the Xi LTE service. Both aforementioned gadgets also permit the use of one-seg mobile TV along with Osaifu-Keitai mobile-wallet features from DoCoMo.
Although the DoCoMo Aquos Phone SH-06D and Medias Tab N-06D price and release date specifications are not known yet, they are expected to hit shelves by March and April 2012, respectively.
