Discover teams up with PayPal for Money Messenger

Discover Money MessengerSeveral companies are trying to come up with different solutions to effectively replace cash transactions in the near future. To help lead this charge, Discover has launched a new service called Money Messenger, which permits users to send money using just their handsets to anyone having a mobile number or email address.

This service is powered by PayPal and provides a relatively easier and convenient way for consumers to make a wide variety of payments. Money Messenger enables quick transfer of money to people in over 60 different countries provided their mobile phone numbers or email addresses are known by the sender.

A Discover card holder wishing to send money need not have a PayPal account. However, any recipient must be a registered PayPal user or should open a new account. Additionally, for senders this new service is absolutely free and they will receive cash back for every transaction. Users approximately receive up to 0.25 percent for the first $3,000 amount of money exchanged.

This service can be accessed by Discover card members via their smartphones to send money.
