Dhanus launches V-Tel, the Globally Local Calling Card in India

V-tel and Dhanus logo Dhanus Technologies has launched V-tel, an international calling card which can save upto 95% of the international roaming charges, in India. The card is aimed at Indians traveling abroad, for leisure and business purposes. The mobile service has been launched for GSM subscribers facilitating free incoming calls in 50 countries, charging only Rs.0.49 per minute on calls made to India and a mind-blowing discount of 95% on international roaming across 229 countries with more than 250 mobile phone service providers.

The announcement was made at a plush hotel in the commercial capital of India – Mumbai.

Indians traveling abroad can save themselves from the trouble of carrying different SIM cards for different countries. Unlike other international cards V-tel is not a country specific card. Once the card has been purchased the number stays with the caller for lifetime and can be used to call any of the 229 countries or to call back home.

One of the amazing advantages of V-tel is that it has no hidden costs in billing as well as claims better network and crystal clear voice clarity. The card doesn’t charge any monthly rental and one just needs to pay Rs.999 as activation fee while purchasing it. To keep the card active, a top-up atleast every six-months is needed. Every person gets an exclusive number which is not transferred to anyone else even if the SIM remains inactive for a long time.

Present at the launch was A. D. Sudhindhra, Executive Chairman, Dhanus Technologies. He said, “The launch of V-tel mobile is a major milestone for Dhanus Technologies and we are extremely excited to take telecom services in India to the next level. There has been a huge surge in business and leisure travelers in the country and huge monies are spent on telephone bills by travelers trying to keep in touch with family, friends and business associates across geographies. With the Indian telecommunications market booming and with about 10 million Indians traveling abroad every year, it is estimated that 1 in every 4 of the next billion subscribers will be an Indian and this provides immense potential to offer V-tel mobile services to Indians who travel abroad frequently.”

“We at Dhanus are committed in providing a high level of customer service, transparency in billing, rich voice clarity and reducing communication costs for V-tel mobile subscribers” added Sudhindhra. According to the Executive Chairman, there is no competition for V-tel as of now with all the other international call service providers being country specific.

To obtain the card, one can just approach one of the 800 plus V-tel distributors or log onto V-tel’s official website www.v-telmobile.com and submit her/his passport copy. After submitting the copy, the person will receive a ‘V-tel Welcome Kit’ with the number on the address mentioned in the passport. For further information one can also always refer to the V-tel website or call the 24X7 service providing V-Tel customer care.

It is estimated that around 10 million Indians travel abroad every year. The number is estimated to go upto 35 million by 2010. Ltd. plans to achieve a customer base in the large number of Indian travelers and a total investment of $200 million in Europe, Middle East and Canada for M&A purposes.
