The DAP M9700 has stepped into the company’s tablet lineup with a 9.7-inch multi-touch panel aimed at enterprise class customers looking for a device with a relatively large display in a lightweight form factor. The manufacturer also boasts of the device’s ruggedness which makes it ideal for use in a variety of environments.

The IP54 certification clubbed with MIL-STD-810F implies that the slab is water- and dust-resistant and it can even withstand up to 4-foot drops. Measuring 267mm x 8.3mm x 0.8mm in dimensions, it weighs around 988 grams. The slate sports a 9.7-inch 1024 x 768 pixel IPS LED display and a 2MP camera which tags along features such as AF and LED flash. It draws steam from an Intel Atom N200 dual core processor clocked at 1.6GHz and runs on the Windows Embedded Standard 7 platform.

“Consumer tablets have their appeal, but for many enterprise applications, they are neither rugged enough nor compatible with existing networks,” asserted David Molesworth, general manager. “The M9700 offers a solution that combines the best-loved features of consumer models with a rugged design and the Windows-based operating system needed for seamless migration into existing Windows-based networks.”
