Chinon Swift Media Tablet

A fresh slate dubbed the Chinon Swift media tablet has recently made its debut in the tech terrain. Fueled by the 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A8 core processor, it will be made available in configurations of 7 inches and 10 inches.

Running the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, the 7-inch and 10-inch devices offer 4GB and 16GB of internal memory space, respectively. The embedded microSD card slots of the slabs allow further expansion of onboard storage. These latest slates are capable of supporting 3G network speeds and come with connectivity options like USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11n. Additionally, users can play games, stream videos and operate online photo editors or animations with the assistance of Adobe Flash 10.1.

“There is no reason why consumers who want to experience the excitement of tablets should be priced out of the market. Chinon’s superior design and the improving Android OS allows our Swift tablets to be priced low without compromising performance,” elaborated Jensen Fong, President, Chinon USA.

The mobile devices boast of responsive multi-touch LCD displays featuring a 4:3 aspect ratio, which can apparently accommodate A4-size PDFs, eBooks and digital photography. They are equipped with a Gyro motion sensor each, to facilitate full screen rotation. Both Swift tablets can cough up the juice for battery life of about 5 hours. Moreover, while the smaller tablet features only a front facing camera, the larger version is also integrated with a rear facing one.

The 10-inch Chinon Swift media tablet price reads $279.99 and the 7-inch variant is priced at $159.99. The availability details are yet to be revealed.
