Cheaper new iPhone at the WWDC 2009

Apple logo AppleInsider has recently announced that Apple has plans to introduce a cheaper version of the popular iPhone at the WWDC 2009.

Analysts state that the iPhone could go through $50 or $100 price-cuts and arrive with phones that are priced at $149 or $99, a significant price reduction from the $199 on offer.

There is a possibility that Apple is going to deliver a series of new iPhones with the inclusion of a possible 4GB low-end model. Mainstream new iPhones are hoped to deliver a faster processor, an improved camera, electronic compass, more working RAM, faster mobile and WiFi networking, plus software features to be delivered in iPhone 3.0.

That Apple would receive price-cuts was already predicted by analysts. However, what is impressive is that Apple is going to announce its cheaper version as early as today. Moreover, Apple doesn’t face too much of competition that would propel its decision to go through such steep price cuts.
