After the popular Bump app, the developers are out with yet another application dubbed Bump Pay for iPhone that allows users to settle bills by simply tapping their Apple smartphones. Designed at the Bump Labs, this application facilitates transferring money via PayPal accounts in not more than 5 seconds.

Compatible with the iPod touch besides the iPhone, the application should come in handy while splitting bills between friends or paying for movie tickets, reports the official Bump blog. Using this software is hardly a tedious task, as it prompts users to punch in the amount of money they wish to transfer to their friends’ accounts and bump their respective smartphones or iPods.

“Bump Pay solves the problem we all feel every day when splitting a lunch bill or buying movie tickets for a group of friends. Inevitably someone doesn’t have cash, and keeping track of IOUs is a pain. In fact, Bump Pay was originally a tool that one of our developers created just for our own internal use to settle up after lunches out, but we liked it so much that we’ve decided to open it up,” reveals the official Bump blog.

As it works in conjunction with PayPal, customers are not required to create new accounts to employ this tool. The application carries out the transaction free of charge if users’ PayPal accounts are linked to their bank accounts. Currently, it is only available for people in the U.S.

The Bump Pay for iPhone app can be downloaded from iTunes, free of charge.
