Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Research In Motion have teamed up to offer the BlackBerry services for users in India. BSNL customers can now take complete advantage of this new service that helps them stay connected with their loved ones while on the go.

The Blackberry services are available for enterprise and individual customers who own BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Curve 8310 or BlackBerry 8700g smartphones in India. These BlackBerry smartphones support tri-band HSDPA high speed network and will allow the users to take utmost advantage of the 3G services.

Shri Kuldeep Goyal, CMD BSNL at Chandigarh comments, “The BlackBerry solution and services has strategically expanded our gamut of services to our customers. The collaboration with RIM positions BSNL as the leading telecom service provider in India, offering efficient and quality driven mobile communications, such as the BlackBerry platform, thus meeting the telecommunication requirements of corporate executives and business professionals.”

The service aims at providing an easy access to web, email and multimedia applications. At present, BSNL offers its service to around 72 million people across the country.

BSNL joins the league of network providers like Reliance, Vodafone, Airtel and Tata teleservices to offer BlackBerry services to customers in India.

The availability and pricing details are not yet revealed.
