BSNL and Nokia teams up to offer 3G bundled phones

BSNL and Nokia Logo 3G services are becoming an integral part of modern business life which offers Internet and Intranet access, video conferencing, voice calls and more. BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has joined hands with Nokia to offer 3G enabled mobile phones to users opting for 3G services.

The various handsets which will offer 3G services to Indian consumers include Nokia 3120 Classic, Nokia 5320, Nokia N97, N81, E71 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. BSNL plans at offering various voice plans for these devices with some advantage for talktime and data packages.

Nokia India Head, Operator Channels, V Ramnath states “Nokia India has partnered BSNL in bringing to Indian consumers 3G services on a host of Nokia devices.” He further said, “We are also in discussions with BSNL to offer its subscribers a combination of free as well as paid for applications in order to further enhance consumer experience.”

In order to garner more 3G mobile subscribers, BSNL has teamed up with the consulting arm of Swedish telecommunication equipment vendor Ericsson as part of its “Go To Market Strategy.” It is said that this telecommunication equipment provider will help to obtain improved and optimized services for the core, radio and transmissions networks installed by Ericsson.

It is also reported that currently the company is offering 3G services to 8,000 – 10,000 subscribers since its launch.
