To expand their market segment and consumer base, Brightkite has come up with a new strategy. Brightkite declared the accessibility of two new phone applications.

This may strengthen the company’s promise to offer the finest user experience for all phone users, irrespective of their handset or the place they live. Created by Brightkite, the new Nokia application operates on every Symbian S60 5th Edition mobile phone, counting the Nokia N97 and the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. The application is accessible from the Nokia Ovi Store.

Brightkite founder Brady Becker, commented, “Brightkite has always been committed to supporting all mobile phone users and we have an extensive mobile website and SMS functionality that everyone can use. However, as many users trade up to smartphones, we want to support them with applications that provide seamless posting and integration with camera and GPS capabilities. The new Nokia and Palm apps allow more people to use Brightkite in the easiest and most rewarding ways.”

Crafted by two Brightkite users namely John Barker and Kyle Parafoil, the Palm application is called Parafoil. This is claimed to be the newest third-party application to be developed by means of Brightkite’s open API.

The Palm application can run on devices like Palm Pre and Pixie. The app can be downloaded from the Palm App Catalog.
