Bowers and Wilkins Z2 and Zeppelin Air price in US formally announced

Price details for the Bowers and Wilkins Z2 and Zeppelin Air in the US have been outed, announcing the influx of two fresh wireless music systems featuring AirPlay and Lightning connectors, which have been slated to begin selling at 399.99 and $599.99, correspondingly. While the former is a latest introduction, the latter is an updated version of the device which had surfaced approximately two years ago.

Measuring 180mm x 320mm x 100mm in size, the Z2 by B&W weighs not more than 2.6kgs. With a view to maintain a tight and controlled bass performance, it employs Flowport technology. A metal grille will be seen sheathing both its integrated engineered drive units. The device supports Apple products such as the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad driven by iOS 4.3.3 or higher, as well as Mac with OS X Mountain Lion or Mac and PC running iTunes 10.2.2 or later editions.

On the other hand, its dock compatibility can be extended only to the iPhone 5, fifth generation iPod touch and iPod nano 7, thanks to the inbuilt Lightning connector. Additional features of the system comprise of digital signal processing, high quality class-D amplifier and switch mode power supply.

Coming to the bumped up edition of the Zeppelin Air, it clings to an external appearance similar to the older version. In terms of its dimensions, it rises to a height of 173mm, spreads as wide as 640mm and runs 208mm deep. Given that its predecessor has been compatible with a 30 pin connector, it offers a wider range of Apple devices for docking. Since the newer variant has been attuned to accommodate a Lightning connector, iPhone 5, fifth generation iPod touch and iPod nano 7 are the only gadgets qualifying the conditions.

The company states that the black colored edition of the Bowers and Wilkins Z2 has already hit stores across America, whereas the version splashed with a tinge of white will not be arriving before June. The revamped Zeppelin Air will be made available during the month of May at the aforementioned retail value. Those who mind waiting can pick up the older member without the Lightening connector by shelling out roughly $600 for a fresh piece and around $450 for a used one, through Amazon.
