Although official price details for the Sony Xperia SP and Xperia L haven’t been declared, Expansys has already labeled the smartphones with retail values of £339.99 and £239.99, respectively. The e-retailer has not only given potential buyers a fair idea of how much the handsets will weigh on their pockets, but it has also started taking pre-bookings for anyone who doesn’t want to miss out on the company’s latest mid-range and low-end offerings.
Clearly, the asking amounts for the Xperia SP and L are a smidgen extra than we had expected. But we must admit, both offer fairly decent specifications in exchange of the said retail tags. Crafted with an aluminum chassis, the previously codenamed HaoShan provides shelter to a 4.6-inch scratch-resistant TFT Bravia Engine 2-equipped display within its dimensions of 130.6mm x 67.1mm x 9.98mm.
With 13MP shooters rapidly becoming the norm, we see the 8MP camera trend increasingly being pushed towards mid-range and low-end devices. The smartphones under consideration follow similar principles as well and pack an Exmor RS snapper each. With respect to memory, both gadgets offer an internal storage capacity of 8GB and the benefit of expanding the overall storage space up to 32GB, in addition to 1GB of RAM.
Unfortunately, there is still no release information for the Sony Xperia SP and Xperia L, except that they will both be striking the said region during the Q2 of 2013. Anyone with an intention to nab the smartphones will have to rely on no one but Expansys for now. However, the options in color seem to be rather limited, with the online shopping portal presenting the devices solely in a hue of white.
