The BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 have just been unveiled by the company for India and the former has even got an official price of Rs. 43,490. The launch event that took place in Mumbai today saw both smartphones being showcased.
It must be noted that while the Z10 will start shipping out tomorrow, it’s keyboard-toting companion isn’t ready to step out just yet. The Canadian manufacturer has offered a vague global release date for some time around April for it. So we don’t yet know about the exact day on which it will touch down in this particular region. On the other side, the new BB 10 handset showing off its neat 4.2-inch touchscreen, will zoom into retail stores within the next three days.
Powered by a 1.5GHz dual core CPU, the phone brings good tidings for snap-happy folks who may have not been too pleased with the cameras offered by the company’s stock of devices so far down the line. There’s an 8MP lens with 1080p HD recording capabilities, 5x digital zoom, auto-focus, flash and Time Shift mode. The front panel plays host to a 3MP fixed-focus sensor with 3x digital zoom and 720p video recording.
On the memory angle, there’s 2GB RAM, 16GB flash and hoarding space that is expandable via a microSD card. The key software features of the BB 10 device cover BBM, Remember, Safeguard intelligence, the BB 10 browser and access to the BB World app store, of course. And tailored specifically for the country is support for content in 8 regional languages including Devanagiri, Tamil, Punjabi and Bengali.
The BlackBerry Z10 will eventually be made available through more than 2000 retail stores in the country. It will be launched in shades of black and white.
