BlackBerry Thunder might be released in the US on 13th October

BlackBerry logo, Thunder While most people look forward to the launch of the BlackBerry Bold, leaks on the net reveal that the much awaited BlackBerry Thunder might be released on 13th October.

According to the product inventory screen from Verizon Wireless, BlackBerry Thunder is now being formally referred to as the BlackBerry 9530. It will be a Verizon exclusive in the US but will have GSM support for operators in other countries. The Thunder will be BlackBerry’s first touchscreen device and is expected to pose a serious threat to the Apple iPhone.

Not much is known about the device except for its touchscreen interface, hybrid support for many carriers and the existence of a camera and Bluetooth. If rumors are to be believed, the phone has a full-screen video player and might include an iTunes Sync feature which allows users to transfer music from a computer without having to convert it.
