BlackBerry smartphones get new update on IM+ for Skype app

IM+ For Skype LogoBlackBerry smartphone users are all set to have a roll with this new update. Shape Services has declared the upgrade of its pioneering IM+ for Skype app for BlackBerry smartphones.

The update comes with completely free of charge Skype calls in Wi-Fi areas. The current technology seems to implement VoIP calls in half-duplex style, comparable to a walkie-talkie.

Igor Berezovsky, CEO of Shape Services, commented, “No other app for BlackBerry allows to make absolutely free Skype calls to international destinations when roaming with Wi-Fi. Besides free you get crystal clear voice quality and almost no delays.”

Apart from the free VoIP calls, the company has also included various other features such as avatars, contact list grid, new scrollbars and other advanced attributes.

The new update in the IM+ for Skype app is scheduled to be unfurled at the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona this month.
