BlackBerry cuts Q5’s price by Rs 5,000, available now for Rs 19,990

BlackBerry’s sales in India have taken a beating much like in the rest of the world and the Canadian company’s strategy to revive itself in the subcontinent is to introduce price cuts. This time, the cost of the BlackBerry Q5 has been slashed by as much as Rs 5000 and the device that was initially available for Rs 24,990, can now be picked up for Rs 19,990. This is the most affordable BB Q10 device in India.

But it should be noted that this is a limited period offer and has been announced on the occasion of the New Year. Currently, even the BlackBerry Q10 has been made available for a discounted price that’s 13 percent less the original and interested users can make the most of this deal until January 26. You will still have to part with Rs 38,990.

Apparently, this strategy is working for BlackBerry because the Canadian manufacturer has been using it for quite some time now. In October, we had seen a similar scheme for BES10 customers in India when rates of the Q5, Q10 as well as the Z10 were decreased considerably.

The company that was hugely popular in India at one point, seemed to have been replaced by Android-powered gadgets. But it is not one to sit and sulk. It has come up with a way to cash in on the popularity of Android and iOS by launching BBM for these platforms.
