BlackBerry Internet Service 3.2 syncing to Google Calendar

BIS 3.2BIS users, who for long have been waiting for the Google Calendar Sync functionality to arrive on the internet service, have good news in store for them. The BlackBerry Internet Service had recently received a 3.1 update, but now Berry Review has stumbled upon a list of new features for the BIS with a vital entrant being Google Calendar Sync. This update is said to come in the form of BIS version 3.2.

RIM has designed the new version in such a way that now users can wirelessly sync their calendars with Google Calendar. The synchronization process is two-way, wherein handset owner can edit, delete or add details from their device or desktop. Subsequently, the information will be wirelessly updated.

If the user has an email account utilizing BlackBerry Enterprise Server, then the device’s calendar will contain entries from both Google Calendar and the email account. However, they must keep in mind that they can’t sync the email accounts calendar details with that of the devices or Google webmail Calendar.

The update is also said to pack in enhanced security, wherein users will have to follow an almost inflexible password policy as they set up or change the password of their BIS account. With automatic login improvements, handset owners who use a password and username will have an augmented experience. There are a certain changes made to the UI such as the password now being displayed for WAP users if they opt for it. Thus it becomes easier for them to remember their passwords.

It also bundles up features like Windows Live Hotmail Revalidation and BlackBerry Email Administration Tool. This offering will be able to perform four BlackBerry Protect functions. These include locking the device, taking a backup of the data, typing the message which is displayed on the main screen and activate a loud ring.

Nothing official is out yet, but we are sure BlackBerry users will be happy with this new suite of features.
