BlackBerry A10 specs leaked, 5-inch BB OS 10.2 phablet in the making

BlackBerry is happy to push on with a BlackBerry A10 launch, in spite of the seemingly lackluster Z10 sales. Although the floundering Canadian company is yet to officially acknowledge an upcoming BB OS 10.2 phone, rumors about the device are flying thick. It enjoyed a short stint on YouTube and now someone managed to lay hands on its entire list of specifications.

The most interesting bit of news is BlackBerry’s enthusiasm to join the phablet train. A CrackBerry post has a link to its forums on which an image of the A10 and its list of features have been put up by a user. Going by this juicy tidbit, the smartphone will have a 5-inch, 1280 x 720p touch display stretched across its face. A 1.7GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 Pro dual core chip with quad core graphics is said to be on the menu.

BlackBerry A10 Specifications

The BlackBerry A10 is expected to pack in 2GB of RAM and onboard memory amounting to 16GB. The last mentioned could be complemented by a microSD card slot for expandability. An 8MP rear camera and 2MP front lens combination is the answer to those wondering about the photography options on this BB OS 10.2 phone. It may be able to ride LTE/CDMA/HSPA+ and LTE/HSPA+, while the onboard 2800mAh battery is touted to be non-removable.

The dimensions of the device are marked at 140.7 x 72 x 9.4 millimeters and it’s been indicated that Verizon will be welcoming it. There will be a slight change though – the handset will land on Verizon with a profile measuring 9.7 millimeters thick instead of 9.4 millimeters. NFC, microUSB, microHDMI, Wi-Fi as well as DLNA are also noted among the connectivity options.

No word on the BlackBerry A10’s release date, of course. We may have to wait for it to go official first.
