The iPhone camera has now become more enhanced with the latest augmented reality app that is released for the iPhone by Bionic Eye. The app is especially designed for the iPhone 3GS model.

The innovative app enables users to visualize point of interest on their iPhone 3GS by means of augmented reality. Users just have to point their iPhone camera at an area and the Bionic Eye app displays points of interest from the surroundings. The POI database is inclusive of restaurants, Wi-Fi hotspots, subway stations (New York Subway, Washington Metro, Chicago L Rapid Transit) and more.

More than 100,000 POIs are already included in the augmented reality app. Only those places that are located at a distance less than 0,621miles will be displayed on the screen. Apart from the iPhone 3GS, the app works efficiently with other iPhone and iPod Touch models via Google Map system within the application. Some of the POIs include Mcdonald’s, Subway, Pizza Hut, The Cheesecake Factory, Holiday Inn, Ben & Jerry’s and more.

Apparently, the Bionic Eye iPhone app is available now from iTunes for $0.99. Bionic app also offers an app that is functional in the UK, France and Tokyo. The company is planning to unveil an updated version of the Bionic App that will reduce loading time. The update will be offered for free to the existing users.
