AT&T to launch three new 4G Windows phones

AT&T Logo After its recent announcement of the Samsung Impulse 4G, AT&T again sets out to expand its smartphone portfolio with Samsung Focus S, HTC Titan and Samsung Focus Flash, all of which will be powered by Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango). As also, existing phones and other Windows phones sold by AT&T will be receiving the Mango facelift. With these releases, AT&T aims to strengthen its claims of offering the broadest portfolio of Windows Phones.

AT&T’s Samsung Focus S building on the success of its predecessor the Focus, features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a 1.3MP front facing camera, while its rear side is embedded with an 8MP. It also incorporates a 1.4GHz processor, 4G-capable speeds and a thin profile at 8.55 millimeters.

With HTC Titan’s 4.7 inches screen, AT&T claims it to be one of their largest when it comes to the smartphone portfolio. In addition to that, it also sports an 8MP camera with dual LED flash and is powered by a 1.5GHz processor. Users can watch videos from AT&T U-Verse Mobile and even play Xbox Live games with ease, given its large screen.

Though the pricing of these 4G smartphones have not been revealed, AT&T assures that Samsung Focus Flash will be ‘packed with value.’ Its compact design with Flash’s 3.7-inch Super AMOLED, running on a 1.4GHz processor with a 5MP camera, add to its light weight.

“Our customers love Windows Phones which is why we’ve sold more of them than anyone else,” comments Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “We’re taking our leadership to a whole new level by getting the Mango update to all existing customers and rolling out awesome new Windows Phones.”

The Windows phones powered by Internet Explorer 9 will provide one touch access to Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter groups can also be pinned up onto the start screen to get live updates and allow to easily text, email and IM them all at once. It also comes with built-in Facebook Chat, Messenger, check-ins and photo tagging functionality for people who are constantly on the move.

The Samsung Focus S, the HTC Titan and the Samsung Focus Flash handsets by AT&T will be available in fourth quarter, while its existing Windows phones are said to receive the 7.5 update, this fall.
