AT&T releases Social Net app

AT&T Logo AT&T has released a free social networking application called the Social Net. It provides access to several popular networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and more.

Through this application, users can customize several news and entertainment feeds. As an addition, it will offer users a platform to view and organize their social communities via a single carousle menu. They can obtain live news feeds along with communicating and tracking events in real time. Leading news, sports and entertainment sites provide these news feeds.

Mark Collins, vice president of voice and data products, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets quoted, “Five of the top 10 searches on our mobile Web portal are for social networking sites, a clear indication of the growing popularity of mobile social networking. With this app, we’re satisfying the increasing demand for aggregation apps that make it easy for customers to be active in multiple communities simultaneously.”

Users can view and respond to tweets, get status updates along with posting profile comments. Numerous photo related activities in addition to sharing of news feeds across various communities is also supported by the application. New or unread articles from their customized content feeds can also be accessed by users.

Even when the application is closed, users can be alerted on their social networking accounts. They will be intimated on receiving comments from a friend, new wall posts and photo updates. An option to launch the application will pop-up and they can also disable this notification.

The AT&T Social Net can be downloaded free of cost through the official website of the company.
