AT&T FamilyMap service to locate family members

AT&T FamilyMap service Stay connected with your family members with the new AT&T FamilyMap service. With this tool, users can locate their family member’s phone via web browser on a PC or using mobile devices.

Besides tracking the location, this service will allow customers to see surrounding landmarks like schools, parks, etc. on a map. Users can switch between satellite and interactive maps.

FamilyMap lets users customize each handset that they track with name and photo, one can also label frequently visited places.

“AT&T FamilyMap is a terrific tool to help busy families keep track of each other, as well as a great way to check up on loved ones for any reason, such as to touch base with elderly family members. More than 60 percent of AT&T wireless customers are part of a family plan or multiple line account, so there’s a considerable number of our subscribers whom we believe will find this service beneficial”, said Mark Collins, vice president of Voice and Data Products for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.

Additionally, the service provides alerts at specified time via a text message. Users can also locate stolen phones with the FamilyMap service.

This service utilizes A-GPS technology for tracking location and alternative location-finding technologies in the absence of A-GPS. FamilyMap service is compatible with all AT&T postpaid mobile phones.

With a monthly subsciption of $9.99, this novel service can locate upto two phone numbers on an account whereas with $14.99 per month it can locate upto 5 phones.
