The Asus Memo Pad price has been announced by the company as the slate makes a silent debut after the CES 2013. Even though the OEM doesn’t disclose as to when the tablet will be put up for sale, it does mention something about a possible launch this month itself.
The Memo Pad will be running the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS which can be considered a good deal bearing the cost in mind. A VIA WM8950 processor clocked at 1GHz will be accompanied by a Mali-400 GPU under the hood.
Users will have to rely on a 1MP camera which will be the only source of clicking pictures and recording videos. The snapper should be able to capture decent images even under dimly lit conditions on account of the integrated BSI sensor and it will moreover be capable of capturing videos in 720p.
A 7-inch LED backlit touchscreen display dominates the front panel and reproduces visuals at a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels. The device weighs 370 grams and measures 196.2mm x 119.2mm x 11.2mm in dimensions. The company points out that it is only a tablet and does not support a keyboard like the Transformer Pad.
The slate will be available in two storage configurations namely, 8GB and 16GB. Over and above this, users can choose to expand the memory up to 32GB using a microSD card. Also, 1GB of RAM has been provided in addition to 5GB of free Asus WebStorage.
Bluetooth may or may not be there, but Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n has been included as far as connectivity features go. Users will find preloaded apps like SuperNote Lite, BuddyBuzz, MyPainter, MyBitcCast amongst others and there is also a 4,270mAh battery which is said to keep the tablet up and about for up to 7 hours.
The Asus Memo Pad has received an official price of $149, whereas the exact release date hasn’t been slated as yet. The manufacturer does mention that the tablet will be out this month and will be available for purchase in select markets. Customers will stumble upon the slate dipped in sugar white, titanium gray and cherry pink color options.
