The Asus MeMO Pad price in India has been disclosed with the 7-inch version officially going on sale in the country for Rs. 9,999. Additionally, the company has announced that the slate in question and its 10.1-inch sibling will be available in the UK.
The 7-inch Pad is a light and slim tablet that’s designed for on the go users. It measures 11.2mm thick and weighs approximately 370 grams. Drenched in titanium grey, the slate features a diamond-patterned finish that’s said to deliver a good grip. A 1GHz VIA WM8950 CPU and a Mali-400 GPU carry out all operations from the inside with the Android 4.1 OS displayed through the 10-point 1024 x 600p multi-touch LED-backlit display.
The UK version has 16GB of internal storage, while the one introduced in India comes with 8GB of built-in hoarding capacity. Both however, support microSD cards up to 32GB and have 1GB of RAM. The front houses a 1MP camera, while the rear plays nice with a Maxx Audio speaker backed by the SonicMaster technology. Up to 7 hours of activity can be achieved through the 4270mAh Li-polymer battery.
Announced for the UK, the 10.1-inch ME301 operates on an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz. The Jelly Bean platform runs the show here delivering the latest from the world of Android. 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory have been incorporated into the device to quench storage needs. And there’s also a microSDXC card slot in the offering for expansion purposes.
The tablet consists of a 5MP camera on the flip side and a 1.2MP lens on the front panel which can be enabled for video conferencing. It measures 263mm x180.8mm x 9.9mm in dimension and weighs not more than 580 grams. The maker claims that the Li-polymer battery that possesses a capacity of 19Wh would provide a usage time of 8.5 hours on power-saving mode. When launched, potential buyers will be able to pick up this slate in midnight blue with more color options to follow.
The 10.1-inch Asus MeMO Pad can be pre-ordered in the UK through websites like Amazon, Curry’s, PCWorld and Tesco for £249. It has an in-store release date set for March 7. The 7-inch variant which carries a retail tag of £129 will be available during mid-April. Furthermore, the company is offering the optional Folio Key accessory which acts as a protective cover for the large slate and even packs in a Bluetooth keyboard for enhanced productivity while on the move.
