The Alcatel One Touch Idol X has come out of hiding at the MWC expo in Barcelona, expanding the company’s recently unveiled series with a top-tier addition. And while a clear availability date is nowhere in sight, a July launch has been hinted.
The One Touch Idol X possesses a 5-inch AMOLED display that comes enclosed in a body measuring 140.4mm x 67.5mm x 7mm in dimensions. The full HD touchscreen is strengthened by Dragontrail Glass and is protected from finger prints and other smudges owing to its oleophobic coating. The maker is offering the device in an assortment of shades like black, red, yellow, turquoise, green and pink.
The handset wraps in a quad core 1.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM, enabling users to multitask on their device more efficiently. Empowered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the phone will play host to a variety of apps as well as services and would probably give various high-end phones a run for their money. The company states that the 2000mAh power pack would yield a 2G talktime of around 11 hours or a standby time of just about 440 hours.
The handset will be launched two variants, one that houses a single SIM card slot and another which will accommodate two slots. 16GB of internal memory finds place in the device, out of which 13.3GB will be allocated to users for storing data. Those who opt for the former version can avail extended hoarding space of up to 32GB through means of a microSD card.
The 8MP camera on the rear comes equipped with autofocus as well as LED flash and also permits full HD recording and playback.
