Asus has announced that the 32GB Google Nexus 7 will be available in India soon and the price for the Wi-Fi variant has been etched as Rs. 18,999. The version with 3G support is also set to cross the border carrying a label of Rs. 21,999.
The maker was earlier reported to be targeting a launch window sometime in the month of June. And then less than a week ago, the 16GB model had its availability declared and it also showed up on the Play store for pre-order. Seeing as this variant only offered connectivity via WLAN, prospective buyers will be quite happy with the new development.
The latest device will be rocking the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform out of the box, and will be gaining steam from a quad core chipset along with 1GB of RAM. With the incorporation of Tegra 3’s 4-plus-1 design, consumption of battery is regularized without compromising on the performance. A 1-cell power pack supplies enough charge to the slab to keep it alive for around 10 hours of web browsing or approximately 300 hours of standby time.
A 7-inch touchscreen which spews out visuals at a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels is rendered almost impervious to imminent scratches and scrapes. This is owing to the use of Corning Gorilla Glass in its construction. The display shares space with a 1.2MP camera on the front panel that can be used for the purpose of making face-to-face calls and capturing pictures and videos. It is devoid of a rear-facing snapper though. The manufacturer asserts that the device has been optimized for gaming with its IPS screen and powerful internal environment. Furthermore, the infused OS adds weight to the maker’s claims, allowing exposure to around 700,000 apps and games.
The 32GB Asus Google Nexus 7 doesn’t have any specific release date affixed to it, as of now. Those who are interested in the version with lesser storage space can always take a look at the 16GB which sells for Rs. 15,999.
