The Archos Platinum 80, 97 HD and 116 price in the US has come out in the open and the new tablets in the Elements range will be on sale for $199, $299 and $349, respectively. The company had not long ago launched the Titanium tablet series last month.
The Platinum 80, as the name suggests, possesses an 8-inch screen that projects images at a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The device weighs only 480 grams and possesses dimensions of 200mm x 153mm x 9.8mm. With its 9.7-inch display, the Platinum 97 HD exhibits pictures and videos as sharp as 2048 x 1536 pixels. It measures up to 242mm x 187mm x 9.8mm and tips the scales at just 670 grams. Other than the size of its touchscreen, no other design specifics of the Platinum 116 have been provided as of now.
All three tablets would contain the Jelly Bean platform and users would thus have access to apps and games on the Play store. The devices will come preloaded with OfficeSuite Viewer that will allows consumers to read documents on the go. Tools like News Republic and Brief Me accompany various games including a demo of World of Goo. Consumers would also be able to access the Media Center app through which they can share media wirelessly.
Housing an 8 core PowerVR SGX 544 GPU, the slates are driven by a 1.2GHz quad core processor which uses 2GB of RAM as an aide to make multitasking easy. Users can heap up data of up to 8GB which can further be extended to 64GB via a microSD card. The devices will be fueled by a Li-polymer battery, the capacity of which hasn’t been mentioned. As means of taking pictures and videos, dual cameras have been embedded onto the slates.
While both, the Archos Platinum 80 and the 97 HD, have a release date slated for February, the 116 model can be expected to come out sometime during April 2013.
