Apple to resolve iOS 5 battery issues by fixing bugs

iOS 5 Battery Fix

Apple has confirmed that some bugs are causing battery issues in iPhone devices which operate on its latest iOS 5 mobile platform and was expected to fix it soon. The problem was observed in the newly released iPhone 4S handset as well as other iDevices which were subsequently upgraded to the most recent version of its OS.

For the past few days, the web has been abuzz with battery issues surrounding the iPhone, first with the 4S handset, followed by devices with the upgraded OS. It looks like users have been expressing their displeasure for quite a while now.

The company has kept mum about the iOS 5 battery issues ever since they began surfacing, but support communities have been giving voice to these problems, probable causes and possible solutions as well. Only yesterday did Apple acknowledge the presence of bugs in the mobile OS and attribute the battery problems to it.

In a statement issued to AllThingsD, Apple conveyed, “A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”

However, recent reports bring in some positive developments. The company has now released iOS version 5.0.1 beta for developers. It is available on the official Apple developer page. At the same time, Cupertino has not given any constructive inputs as to what ridden users should do until the new update is released.

In spite of this glitch, Apple has seen a pretty encouraging consumer response for the iPhone 4S as well as the iOS 5, even as it ventured out of the U.S. a few days ago. Hopefully, the bug repairs and fixing of the battery life will provide a fresh breather to the newly launched handset soon.
