Apple is reportedly relaunching the iPhone 4 in India for Rs 22,900

Reports regarding the relaunch of the iPhone 4 in India have been doing the rounds on the web for a while now and now we learn that they could be true. Apparently, the company plans to introduce it for a discounted rate of Rs 22,900. Before the phone was discontinued, it carried a price tag of Rs 26,900. Apple stopped selling it worldwide after the release of the latest generation iPhone 5S and 5C.

Earlier, there were speculations suggesting that the Apple device will be sold in India for a highly affordable price of Rs 15,000, but as BGR points out, Apple would never compromise with its brand value. Thus, even though the device is old, it is not likely to be priced so low.

However, an EMI scheme could be introduced for the gadget which could bring the cost down to the said amount. A similar offer has been introduced for the iPad mini in India only today. It should be noted that we are referring to the 8GB version of the iPhone 4.

The aforementioned website also reveals that distributors of Apple products have introduced a scheme for retailers, wherein the latter can expect 10 free units of the iPhone 4 8GB with every 100 units they buy. If this is implemented, the resellers may decide to lower the price even further and sell the gadget for around Rs 20,000.

We are yet to get an official nod to confirm that the iPhone 4 8GB is indeed getting relaunched. And as they say, there’s never smoke without fire, so this could very well be the real deal.
