Apple iPhone 4 now up for sale in India, 8GB version to set you back by at least Rs 22,500

With a view to attract budget-conscious customers in India, Apple has reintroduced the pretty outdated iPhone 4 for Rs 23,000. Turns out that all those rumors pertaining to Apple’s plans of brining the fourth generation phone back to the subcontinent, were after all, true.

The device was initially available for around Rs 26,000, but the relaunching has led to a price cut of Rs 4,000. And this is what the company expects you to pay for the 8GB version of the gadget. If more memory is what you are looking for, then you can consider the 16GB variant of the smartphone which is priced at Rs 31,800. Some online retailers in India have already started selling it.

iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 was unveiled back in 2010, that’s over three years ago and considering that the company hasn’t tweaked the device with new components, it still carries all the outdated features. Phones like the iPhone 4S, 5, 5S and 5C have already succeeded the handset in question.

For refresher’s sake, here’s what it drags along. The chassis with a 3.5-inch touchscreen on its front panel hides a single core processor under the hood. A 5MP main camera is accompanied by an FaceTime webcam and the other pointers on the specs list includes 512MB of RAM, 8GB or 16GB onboard memory and more. Like all Apple devices, its storage is not expandable.

The iPhone 4 8GB is currently available via multiple online retailers including Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal for Rs 22,499, Rs 22,649 and Rs 21,500, respectively. Its 16GB model is available through Amazon for Rs 31,800.
