Rovio is bringing in some spring fun for mobile gamers with the upcoming Angry Birds Seasons Cherry Blossom episode. As the name suggests, the new chapter will be based on the background of cherry blossom trees during spring, primarily in Japan and also some other countries around the world.
The new theme with cherry blossoms will be set against the shadow backdrop of Mount Fuji, one of the three holy mountains in Japan, which lies to the south-west of Tokyo. The new update is expected to shed light on the Japanese tradition of a spring picnic with family and friends under the blooming Sakura trees.
The Cherry Blossom episode will feature up to 15 new levels plus two bonus stages as well. Apparently, this time the birds will have to destroy the pigs while they are enjoying a spring picnic as per Japanese traditions. The new game will be released across several platforms like iOS, Android and Symbian as well as Chrome. There is no word by the company about the update for any other OS.
This refreshment comes almost a year after Seasons was first launched. Since then, we have seen the addition of episodes like Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and more. Fans of this game are clearly awaiting the release of the Angry Birds Space too, a brand new avatar which is expected to be unveiled on March 22.
The Angry Birds Seasons Cherry Blossom release date is not known yet, though ‘sometime this week’ sounds apt.
