Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 firmware for Samsung Galaxy S3 leaked

Samsung has apparently decided to update the Galaxy S3 by beaming the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 firmware to it which has already been leaked on the web. The test firmware codenamed I9300XXUFME, isn’t complete as yet and is currently in the developmental stages.

Neither the South Korean manufacturer, nor Google has revealed anything about this upcoming update. But the guys over at SamMobile managed to get wind of this and they have also put up a video demonstrating the features that are likely to come along with the new software. It is believed that it will tag along a number of attributes that are found in the new generation S4 smartphone from the company.

The aforementioned website seems confident that the S4’s features will come to the preceding handset, but they are unsure whether they will be a part of this firmware or the next one which is likely to be v4.3. Some of the upcoming attributes include new lock screen, screen modes and an enhanced notification center amongst a number of others.

The lock screen is inspired by that of the fourth generation handset and will be loaded with a set of new elements such as multiple widgets and unlock effects like ripple and light. Users will be able to change the clock size and leave a personal message too. Apart from adapt display and professional photo screen modes, it is said to feature daydream and driving mode as well. Actionable notifications will also form a part of this firmware.

A tabbed interface, like the one found in the S4 will come to the concerned handset with revamped settings and controlling the gadget will be even more simple, thanks to the addition of voice controls for executing multiple operations. A white background will be added to the gallery mode and the company’s applications will open in the full screen mode. And in addition to smart switch widget, this software update has also been loaded with the new version of S Voice.

The Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 firmware update has only been leaked on the web for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it hasn’t gone official as yet. But going by the video uploaded by SamMobile, it seems to be working fine. It is slated to be rolled out in June.
