Android 4.3 is now rolling out for the HTC One

While HTC One Google Play edition owners have been feasting on Android 4.3 since months, owners of the regular variant are now reportedly receiving an update to the latest version of Jelly Bean. The roll out is said to be international and unlike the former handset, this firmware tags along Sense 5 enhancements.

The changelog doesn’t specify whether the new UX version 5.5 will be present, neither does it provide concrete details on what the new improvements are all about. The Taiwanese company has indeed kept up to its promise of delivering the update. Also, as reported earlier, the HTC One Developer Edition will be part of the roll out. There’s still no confirmation if the firmware is being pushed in Canada as yet. If not, it should arrive in a day or two.

Now, the bad news – HTC is still to provide an update regarding when the carrier locked variants in the US will be eligible for Android 4.3. Jason Mackenzie, the company’s president, noted in a tweet that the manufacturer is still awaiting certification from providers in the US. Based on the details given by a screenshot posted online by GSM Arena and sourced from XDA-developers, the new firmware is listed as version 3.22.1540.1.

If you haven’t received the update to Android 4.3 as yet, it should arrive over the weeks as most companies adopt a phased rollout strategy.
