Android 2.0 Screenshot It seems that the Android 2.0 is receiving its final touches, this can be figured out from the latest screenshots of the OS from the Boy Genius Report.

Reportedly, the latest Google OS packages a plethora of innovations that would take mobile computing to new horizons. It features native Exchange support as well as native Facebook support, browser improvements, a renovated Maps application, unified email inbox. The user interface also received a major face-lift.

Further, Microsoft Exchange compatibility is apparently built-in to the OS. Maps are also updated to incorporate layers. The updated version facilitates users to overlay search queries, Wikipedia entries, Latitude buddies, traffic, transit lines, load remote My Maps allowing users to share and receive directions with others. It also incorporates multi-touch gestures, YouTube widget, Text-to-speech capability and more.

The OS supports built-in haptic feedback and an innovative accessibility option. Apparently, the music application as well as the gallery application did not undergo any significant changes. Moreover, Facebook friends are integrated into the contacts system.

We have no idea which handsets will run this updated version. However, the rumor mills claim that the Motorola Sholes is the most apparent device that would incorporate the Android 2.0.
