Discovering details about any museum or enjoying any trip to some adventurous place has just got easier. The new American Museum of Natural History’s Explorer app has just stepped in to make navigation truly effortless for iPhone users.

Utilizing the museum’s new public Wi-Fi system, the app highlights users’ location and offers turn-by-turn directions to exhibitions, cafes, restrooms, and other facilities. The newly rolled out app provides information about more than 140 objects and specimens, custom tours, and a dinosaur treasure hunt. With this handy app around, users can now easily create tours instantly and share their adventures by posting on Facebook and Twitter. Users can also bookmark their popular objects to receive links with additional information to discover from home.

In addition, users can select from a wide array of Museum-designed tours or create their own tours from a list of popular exhibits, specimens, or artifacts. The app comes pre-loaded with more than hundred museum exhibits to choose from. Adding various interesting elements, the app provides clues to locate specimens and exhibits in the Museum’s fossil halls.

The new AMNH Explorer iPhone App can now be downloaded for free. Visitors can also borrow one of the 350 devices from the museum for free.
