Alltel Wireless rolls out one-year contracts with unchanged prices on handsets

Alltel logoAlltel Wireless’ customers, both new and those who wish to renew their contracts will be offered a wider choice in postpaid service contracts. The company has slashed the length of its standard postpaid connection contract to half keeping the handset rates unaffected. They can now enjoy more flexibility with this altered postpaid phone contract.

Only customers in the 91 cellular market areas (CMAs) will be offered this modified contract. While Verizon is required to separate from it, the contracts will continue with Alltel Wireless until all of them are sold. The company will also continue its business activities as usual in the places operated by AT&T which have a pending regulatory approval.

“Wireless customers have been waiting for an option like this for a long time. With a 1-year contract option, customers can take greater control over their wireless experience, having the flexibility to choose their contract length and the latest innovative handsets at the most competitive price possible. We are excited about the possibility of joining with AT&T and believe it will be great for our customers,” stated Paul Bowersock, Senior Sales & Operations Leader for the Alltel Divestiture Trust.

Alltel Wireless was the initiator of the Anytime Plan Changes that provides customers an option to alter calling plans anytime without extending their contracts. The exclusive feature My Circle by the company offered unlimited calling to and from 5, 15 or 25 numbers on any network.
