The Discovery Channel has played a major role in spreading information pertaining to a variety of topics, in the TV world. Well, now the company moves to the mobile phone world. Discovery Networks has teamed up with Apalya Technologies to broadcast its suite of channels on the mobile platform.
Thus now handset owners in India could watch any of their favorite Discovery programs on their mobile phones. Currently all the five Discovery networks namely, Discovery Channel, TLC, Discovery Turbo Animal Planet and Discovery Science can be accessed on handsets. Back in the month of February this year, the TLC app had surfaced onto the App Store.

Partnering with several network operators in India, the company now lets users download the mobile TV application from the mobile-enabled WAP sites. Subsequently, they can dive into the deluge of information and entertainment this entire boutique of channels has to offer. This service will assist them in accessing the channels anytime, anywhere.
Discovery Networks has joined hands with carriers such as MTNL, Aircel, Reliance, Tata Indicom, Idea, BSNL, Docomo, Vodafone, Airtel, Tata Photon Plus, Reliance Net Connect and Virgin VFlash to provide this service.
